TCB or Taking Care of Business comes directly from Balin’s time in Army Special Forces. Each Special Forces Team or Detachment picks a logo that represents the attitude and mission approach the team will take to mission success. Balin was sent to a team that had the TCB with a lightning bolt as their logo back to the early 1980’s. To date, it is the longest lasting unchanged logo in 5th Special Forces Group.
The members of the Detachment took the concept of Taking Care of Business to heart. To Balin and his team, it meant working together to achieve mission success regardless of the problem in front of them or the difficulty of the possible solutions. The only thing that mattered was mission success, not who presented the solution, not who was specifically involved with the mission and certainly not who was officially recognized for completion of the mission.
Taking Care of Business is the core philosophy behind Balin’s instructional approach. It is not his way, it is whatever way works best for the shooter. Everyone is built differently with different experiences, level of training and habits. Balin has trained thousands of people from all walks of life and has seen many different styles and approaches work for different people.
Mission success is giving every customer a good idea of where they are within their shooting journey, providing them with a way forward and the tools necessary to accomplish their specific goals. Training with Balin will put the technical skill of shooting a semi-automatic handgun back in the control of the individual. Use that skill for the competitive environment, self defense and fun on the range.
